Holiday Card Throwback (not really!) #11: Winter Birthday Cards

Hi there!  Today's throwback isn't really a throwback, in the sense that it isn't a video walk down Memory Lane.  Today I decided to make some birthday cards for a birthday RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) group that I belong to.  Since I wanted to get a head start on my January cards, and since I still had my box of Christmas stamps out, I thought I would use a snowflake background stamp. An Easy, Quick Masculine Birthday Card

This week I thought I'd share a card that I just made for my brother-in-law's birthday.  It was a last-minute card (Shh, don't tell!), so it had to be easy and quick. 

To make this card, I first created a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch base from kraft cardstock.  Then I cut a banner just slightly smaller than the card base from one of the papers in the Echo Park Note to Self  6 x 6 paper pad.  I then cut 2 smaller banners from papers in the same collection, and I stamped sentiments from the Stampin' Up B*Y*O*P set on them.  I used my Tiny Attacher to staple the smaller banners to the large one.  To add a little "fun" to the card, I tied some brown twine and added a bow from a small scrap of beige twine that I had.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" from the same stamp set, and I called it done.  It actually took me only about 20 minutes to make, and it's perfect for a gift card!

Christmas in July and a Summer Sunflower

I jump-started my Christmas cards with this one.  The stamp is by Outlines, and I used Copic and Spectrum Noir markers to color it in.  The glitter is crystal, and it's made by Stampendous.

Here's a birthday card that I made for my sister using the sunflower dies from Spellbinders.  I inked the sunflower and leaf with inks by Stampin' Up (Tangerine Tango), Palette (Sunflower), and Hero Arts (Field Greens & Cup O' Joe).  I adhered the sunflower to the left panel of the gatefold card and the leaf to the right side.  The crystal glitter is by Stampendous, and the green is a very old one from Stampin' Up.  The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad by Die Cuts With a View.  I used gold and clear sequins in the center.
